Abstract

Extensive development of interventional technologies, in particular, implantation of vascular stents and the improvement of medical treatment in the postoperative period led to a significant reduction in early complications of stenting of coronary arteries.
However, the change of acute and subacute stent thrombosis came of restenosis inside the stent. They are by far the most important and dangerous complication of coronary stenting, which significantly limits this therapeutic method. Of course, the main condition for minimizing in-stent restenosis is accurate knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms of response of the vascular wall of arteries to the implantation of the stent in them, as well as the morphology of reactive and reparative changes.
